How each part works
What every piece does, what it does not do, and what you see when it breaks. Written for reading before you buy.
None of this decides trades for you. You choose when to enter and when to leave; the system enforces the limits you set and repeats what you do across your accounts.
Protector
Risk controlWhat it does
- Works out how many contracts fit the risk you set, and places the order in E-mini or E-micro.
- Holds your daily limits per account: maximum loss and target reached.
- When one of them is hit, it closes that account and stops it for the rest of the day.
What it does NOT do
- It does not decide when you enter or when you leave. That is yours.
- It does not reopen an account because your P&L got better. The daily limit is a latch: it drops once and only a new trading day lifts it.
- It does not promise you will not lose. It enforces the limit you chose with a clear head.
What it needs
- NinjaTrader 8 on Windows, with the Trade Control AI add-on installed and your licence key pasted in.
- The accounts you want protected, connected in NinjaTrader.
- Your limits set on the panel before the session.
What you see when it fails
- Press Status on the panel. It reads the whole chain, from the browser to the engine.
- If protection orders are left with no position behind them, the report says so first: that costs money while it exists.
SuperCopier
Order replicationWhat it does
- Repeats what you do in your leader account across the follower accounts, applying your contract multiplier.
- It runs on your own machine, inside NinjaTrader: it hooks the leader account’s execution and order events and submits the orders itself.
- Routing goes straight to Rithmic/Tradovate, so a third-party copier service going down cannot stop it.
What it does NOT do
- It does not decide entries or exits. It repeats yours.
- It does not copy anything if your machine or NinjaTrader is closed. There is no server trading on your behalf while you sleep.
- It does not guarantee identical fills: each account gets its own order, and the market fills each one on its own.
What it needs
- A leader account assigned, and the follower accounts switched on.
- All of them connected in NinjaTrader, with enough margin for the multiplier you set.
What you see when it fails
- The worst case is silent: the leader detached from its events. It opens positions, nothing is copied, and no line is written anywhere — not even an "ignored".
- That is the second check the Status report does, and it is the reason it exists: a silent discard is indistinguishable from a breakdown.
Limits
Operating limitsWhat it does
- Two daily limits per account: maximum loss and target reached.
- Five filters on the number of trades: maximum per day, maximum winners, maximum losers, longest winning streak and longest losing streak.
- The trade filters are one setting for all accounts; the counter is per account.
What it does NOT do
- It does not average, it does not chase and it does not re-evaluate. A limit that is hit is a fact, not a measurement that goes up and down.
- It does not let you back in for the rest of the day, whatever happens next.
What it needs
- Your numbers set before the session. Setting them mid-session is exactly what they exist to prevent.
What you see when it fails
- The Status report says which accounts are stopped and why — and a stopped account is a normal state, not a breakdown.
Trading Plan
Your rules, written downWhat it does
- Holds the rules you set with a clear head, before the session: risk per trade, instruments and hours.
- It is what the rest of the system enforces. Without it, there is nothing to enforce.
What it does NOT do
- It does not write the rules for you, and it does not judge them. They are yours.
- It is not a strategy and it does not give signals.
What it needs
- Fifteen minutes away from the market, which is the only moment the rules are worth writing.
What you see when it fails
- If the panel shows no plan, the engine has nothing to hold, and the Status report says so.
Journal
Coming sooncoming soonWhat it does
- It will record your trades as they happen: PnL, commissions, how long each one lasted, and the maximum adverse and favourable excursion.
- And it will measure how fast you are trading, to warn you when the pace looks like overtrading.
What it does NOT do
- It will not tell you what to do about it. It counts; it does not diagnose.
- It is not available yet — and you are not paying extra for it when it is.
What it needs
- Nothing you do not already have: it comes with your plan, at no extra cost.
- Your permission, given once in NinjaTrader. Without it the journal records nothing — they are your trades, so it does not start until you say so.
What you see when it fails
- Nothing yet: it is not running.
And the indicators
The NinjaTrader 8 order flow indicators — VPOC, VP Fixed, DeltaBar, Big Trade and Absorption — have their own page, with the exact formulas.
